From Precious to Diva? Gabourey’s Actin’ Out!

I’m hearing some not so nice things about Precious star, Gabourey Sidibe! They’re saying the sweet unknown Oscar nominee is now turing into a full-fledged DIVA! What?! Say it ain’t soooooo! Okay, here’s the scoop: One reporter tried to go over to her table to tell her how much he loved her work. Mind you, Gabby was already in a conversation. He interrupted her, but she told him to come back in 5 minutes. He pretended to walk away, then laughingly came back, but she “deaded” him with the look in her eyes. He slunk back to his table.  He shared his story with his friend and she had this to say about Gabby:

Oh! She’s horrible,” Armao said in her wonderfully blunt way. She told me that she saw Sidibe at the pre-cocktails and told her that she’d seen “Precious” three times and that she thought Sidibe’s performance was “incandescent.” What was Sidibe’s response? “I guess I should say, ‘Thank you.’”

More Drama:

When a fan asked for a picture, she barely cracked a smile!  The fan said jokingly, “that’s all you’re going to give me,” to the pouty Precious. Gabby responded, “you’ll get what I give you.” (Trife!)

Later in the evening FishbowlDC overheard a Politico reporter asking Gabby for a quick interview. Gabby replied, “one question“ and then proceeded to give the reporter a one-word answer. When asked a follow up Q, not-so-Precious said, “sounds like three questions, good night.”

More stories like this are coming to surface, regarding her dissing fans! OMG! Girl, she’d better get it together! Hollywood can be very fickle!

Happy Mother’s Day to All the Moms!

Our First Lady, Michelle Obama hosted a Mother’s Day Tea at the White House yesterday where she paid respect to her mother, Marian Robinson.

Michelle Obama and her mother Marian Robinson have bonded even more, since they once again share the same home. Mrs. Robinson moved into the White House after the inauguration.

Fantasia and her adorable daughter, Zion. Look out for Fanny’s new album later this summer! Her new single “Bittersweet” will be hitting the airwaves this week! Oh, and yes, she’ll be back with her reality show in the fall! Will her brother Teeny have his own show soon? Hmmm.

New Age Mother & Daughter…Evelyn Lozada of the show “Basketball Wives” is hangin’ out with her daughter Shaniece.  That’s her daughter?! Oh and did I mention she’s only 17? Girl please!

I don’t think I was lookin’ that grown at 17, but hey, whatevva! I love Evelyn’s shoe store, Dulce! Remind me to stop  in there when I hit MIA again!

Now that Halle Berry has her beautiful daughter Nahla, she could gracefully kick Gabriel Aubry to the curb! LOL! No, seriously, she and Gabe are no longer a couple. They allegedly broke up several months ago, but it’s just coming to light. I don’t know who dissed whom, but it could get ugly. Word on the streets is that he might sue for custody! Ooh! I’ll keep you posted!

Christina Milian was spotted out and about with her new baby Violet. Her hubby The Dream was home I guess. But let me ask you this, what mom is out pushing the stroller with six-inch heels? I’m just asking! Hmmmph! LOL

I see I’m gonna have to step my heel game up if I wanna have some kids in this era! Forget about “mom jeans” you better be rockin’ “Mom Stilettos” !

Essence Lunch Flix, plus Beyonce in the White House!

Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce took a tour of the White House while Jay was in D.C. for is Bluepring 3 Tour.  The President wasn’t in any of the pics, but I hear he was there. Wow! What’s next for Hov? Maybe the White House! LOL!

R&B singer Trey Songz was there too, along with mama Tina Knowles and record exec, Kevin Liles.

Jada Pinkett Smith tears up as she presents an award to her friend Queen Latifah. Awww. One of these days I’m gonna get me an invite to that luncheon! So many beautiful  and powerful SistaGirlz. I know the energy in that room  was empowering!

Mo’Nique, Cassie Goes Blonde & More!

Mo’Nique is gearing up for the Oscars this Sunday! We’re hoping she brings home the big prize! Meanwhile, Mo has also shared some of the secrets to her marriage. She and hubby Sidney keep the flames lit by “hairy legs”, she doesn’t shave and she also believes in OPEN Marriage. Check out what she said in a recent interview:

“Let me say this: I have not had sex outside my marriage with Sidney. Could Sid have sex outside of his marriage with me? Yes. That’s not a deal-breaker. That’s not something that would make us say, ‘Pack your things and let’s end the marriage. What if it’s 20 times? So what? We’ve been best friends for over 25 years, and we truly know who we are. Alicia Keys, Celeb Kids & Eve’s Drama

Sarah Chapman and her beautiful little girl, Chance. Awww. Diddy loves all of his kids.  I don’t know about the baby mama’s but, he takes care of those babies! Just like he should, hmph! LOL

Alicia Keys and her camp have denied the proposal that allegedly came from Swizz Beatz earlier this year. But according to our sources, they are not only engaged, but planning the WEDDING this summer aboard a yacht! Wow! Hold up, is the ink even dry on his divorce papers? I’m serious!!

The Rapper Eve is callin’ it a rap at her home in L.A.  She put it on the market last month, and now the IRS is calling!  She owes them $357,000 in back taxes and that’s just the beginning of her troubles. Earlier this month (FEB) it was revealed that  Eve was under investigation for helping her ex-boyfriend launder money from his country, Equatorial Guinea.

The ex, Teodorin Nguema Obiang is accused of setting up shell corporations, one of which Eve was associated with. Yikes!  We’ll Keep you posted on that madness!  If you have a couple milli lying around you might be able to buy her house and help her out! Check out the flix, below!

Rihanna’s Bday Party, Plus Whitney’s Trippin’!

Rihanna turned 22 over the weekend and she had a blast! The bash was given by her “friend” Matt Kemp of  the L.A. Dogers. Yes, that’s the same guy she has been canoodling with for the past few months. MmmHmm.

She even had the midget strippers on deck to add to the action. LOL!

Why is our SistaGirlz Whitney Houston trippin’ again? I think we just have to realize this diva is gonna tell it straight-no-chaser! She doesn’t care who hears her rants! LOL! Whitney was in Austrailia the other day and according to the story, her driver was late.  She was cussin’ up a storm and someone told her to take off her shades and enjoy the beautiful morning. Wrong thing to say to Whitney. She told them to “mind your f*cking business!” Wowzers. Reminds me to keep it movin’ the next time I see Whitney! LOL!

The New Lady of Rap

It amazes me that the same people who talk about the way women are portrayed in rap music today, support female artists who rely solely on their sexuality to sell records.  “That’s right,” they say.  “She’s taking control of her sexuality.  She’s defining it for herself.”  But aren’t they feeding into the stereotypes of black women as well.  Isn’t a highly sexual video vixen at the very least similar to a highly sexual female rapper in a video?  I mean clearly the wardrobe is the same.  I liken it to this metaphor: If you die because someone murdered you, or you die because you killed yourself, either way…you’re dead.

With a new lady in the rap game I was interested to see what where she was going to fit in all of this.  To be honest, from the few pictures I had seen of her here and there and her somewhat mediocre verses in various songs in radio rotation I had almost written off Nicki Minaj.  But there was so much hype around her I decided to give her a chance.  What I found is a Nicki Minaj I really like.  She’s a smart and quirky girlie girl whose flow is on the verge of sick and there is no one else in the game anywhere near her.  Her verses on other people’s records did not do her justice at all.  She’s witty, seems to have a mastery of the English language, and though something in her rhymes may occasionally be over your head if you look it up you’ll find that it made sense.  She is definitely poised to be the “Lil Wayne” of female rappers. 

Speaking of Wayne, the Harajuki Barbie recently inked a deal with Young Money Entertainment/Universal Records where she was able to keep all of her 360 rights, including merchandising, sponsorships, endorsements, touring, and publishing!  Basically it means SistaGirl is going to be PAID!  Like I said, she’s smart.  So, despite the extra sexy images, and the controversy over whether or not her backside is real (oh yes, there is controversy) she is going to be a beast in the rap game.  Don’t sleep on Nicki Minaj.  I suggest you keep your eyes peeled and your ears glued to the streets.

Destroyed by Mental Illness

So, I don’t know where I’ve been but apparently back in September of 2009 someone uploaded a video of Maia Campbell trippin’ hard in LA’s Jefferson District.  Yes SistaGirlz, if you have been living under the same rock as I have let me give you the rundown.  Child star Maia Campbell of “In the House” and “Trippin” fame, daughter of the late Bebe Moore Campbell, apparently has bi-polar disorder and has been on drugs for quite some time. 

It took some serious searching, but I found the infamous YouTube video, that was subsequently removed from the site itself citing a “terms of use violation.”  I also found a video of her singing Foolish by Ashanti topless. Yes, you read it correctly…topless.  I am completely outdone and saddened by what I’ve seen; so much so that I decided not to post the links to the videos I found.

I couldn’t help but wonder where her family is.  Obviously her mother is no longer with us, but where is everyone else.  So, I looked up Bebe Moore Campbell in order to find out if she had brothers, sisters, etc.  Upon clicking the link to her website I was brought to this page, which was apparently added to the Bebe Moore Campbell website shortly after the disturbing video hit YouTube:

According to Vibe Magazine, Maia is in a treatment facility getting the help she needs.  As for the gentlemen (and I use that term very loosely in order to avoid using bad language) who taped these two videos – How dare you have the audacity to exploit someone on the basis of their fame for your own little 15 minutes in the spotlight.  You, truly disgust me. 

I have also come across several rumors that she is creating a reality show about her illness, drug abuse, and her struggle to get healthy.  Here is the release via Global Grind:

Former child star turned vixen turned You Tube trainwreck, Maia Campbell has teamed up with Reality TV producer Jaysen “Av Action” Accius to start filming the pilot for a reality series that follows her journey as she attempts to pick up the pieces of a once beautiful life while dealing with her addictions and Bi-Polar Disorder. Maia and the producers of the show are hoping that this show will aid in giving a voice to the thousands of people diagnosed with Bi Polar Disorder every year and the families, friends and communities that struggle to support them.

I’m not sure if this is a good look for her.  I wonder if a Barbara Walters Special would present better.  I almost feel like someone is trying to exploit her – yet again.  But then again it could be interesting and hopefully very informative as long as they take more of a Celebrity Rehab approach than say a Keyshia Cole “The Way it Is” approach.  Whatever happens, I sincerely hope and pray that her treatment is successful and she remains healthy for the duration of her life.

Lloyd Gets CRAZY, Usher, Derek Jeter & More

G-Unit member LLoyd Banks was popped in Canada for poppin’ off on a promoter. Allegedly Lloyd Banks only did one song and then left the stage to demand his money. The promoter, Chris Hines, felt Lloyd did not deserve all of the money they previously discussed because Banks showed up late and only performed one song.

DRAMA ensued, resulting in Lloyd Banks and three of his goons getting arrested in Canada, and poor Chris Hines ended up in the hospital.

OUCH! I feel bad for dude! Dang. When will these rappers learn? This is real, not a game? Shame on Lloyd Banks!

On the left coast this weekend, Usher was all grins! I heard he was surrounded by a table of women on the Las Vegas Strip.  They allegedly had to bring over extra security to handle all of the chicks tryin’ to get with Tameka’s EX.

After her spaced out inteview surfaced with her demanding money from various celebs, I knew it was only a matte of time before Monica “Danger” Leon of For the Love of Ray J, had her kid taken away.  L.A. Child protective services took away her baby daughter and placed her with the child’s father, Nick Cannon’s brother. What is his name, by the way? Why can’t we remember that? Hmm. 

 

So there are hearts breaking all over the globe (especially in NYC), all over a little rumor. Looks like Minka the Minx has finally gotted Derek Jeter to do what Mariah, Jessica Alba & Jessica Beil all tried  to do**Propose. Allegedly Derek and Minka are planning a November wedding at Oheka Castle (it’s beautiful) after the World Series. Wow. Congrats…if the rumor is true!
