SistaGirlz have you heard about the latest craze in the mani-pedi world? It’s called Minx nails! They started out on the west coast and are slowly, but surely making their way across the country. This flexible polymer sticker-like polish, which apparently came from NASCAR decal technology, is what’s up for celebrities. I know you’ve seen Beyonce’s gold nails in her “Diva” video, but Rhianna, Eve, and Solange have also gotten “Minxed” a time or two.

Why are celebrities all over this new product? Well, Minx nails give you the opportunity to have virtually flawless, chip proof nails in a variety of colors – think true metallics - and patterns like Burberry, that are near impossible with traditional nail polish.  Because Minx nails arebeyonce2 applied using heat to seal it to the nail there is no dry time.  You know what that means?  No more sitting under the UV lights for 20+ minutes, spraying that quick dry aerosol, and silently praying that whenever you get the nerve to get up you’ve waited long enough and your nails are absolutely dry.  Only to find out when you do get up it’s not and you have to call the nail tech over and announce sheepishly that you smudged your nail.  Maeve-obama-nail1n I hate that!   But I digress…

This new technique sounds great and the finished product looks amazing, but it definitely isn’t for the frugal. Getting “Minxed” can cost you anywhere from $40-$70+ just for a Minx manicure and even more for a pedicure. Considering you can get a manicure for $10 to $15, depending on where you live, and we are in a recession, that is some serious cash! Nevertheless, it might be worth the splurge on a special occasion like a birthday, wedding, or anniversary.

Minx nails are so new in the game that not even all major cities have that many, if any, certified technicians that can do them. So, SistaGirlz if you’re set on getting Minxed check out the official website to find a Minx Master near you! But be warned – you may have to do some serious traveling!
